Zonal competitions of SGOU arts festival from Nov. 15

The zonal competitions preceding the Arts Festival of Sreenarayanaguru Open University will began on Saturday at five regional centres. The State Kalotsavam, which is being organised on the occasion of the university’s fifth anniversary celebrations, will take place from November 28 to 30 at Government Arts and Science College, Kozhikode. The zonal arts festivals across the five regional centres will be completed before the State-level event and the winners will receive grace marks. They will also get the opportunity to represent the open university in the Inter-University Arts Festival.

Over 1,000 students from 11 study centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Kollam districts, under the Kollam Regional Centre, will participate in the zonal competitions to be held at Fatima Mata National College. Kollam District Collector N. Devidas will inaugurate the event and university Vice-Chancellor Jagathy Raj V.P. will deliver the keynote address. The logo of the festival will be officially unveiled simultaneously at the inauguration venues of the zonal arts festivals in all five regional centres.

Logo design contest

The university had organised a logo design competition for the State Kalotsavam. Out of the 190 entries received, the logo selected by the jury will be officially launched at the inauguration venues of the zonal Kalotsavams across the five regional study centres. The selected logo was designed by Vipin K., a third-semester M.A. Malayalam student from Government College, Kalpetta.
