A landslip occurred recently inside the Karimattam forest close to Chooralmala in Wayanad, Kerala, where a major landslide took place in 2024.

The landslip took place during the heavy rain on May 28, but was discovered by the authorities only on May 30.

Officials of the Departments of Geology and Forest are monitoring the area which comes under Malappuram district.

A landslide had taken place in Karimattam estate in 1984.
