The funeral of revered communist leader and former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan is set to be held with full State honours at Punnapra-Vayalar Martyrs’ Memorial at Valiya Chudukkad in Alappuzha district of Kerala on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) evening.
Achuthanandan will be laid to rest close to the final resting places of legendary communist figures, including P. Krishna Pillai, T.V. Thomas, N. Sreedharan, P.K. Chandranandan, and K.R. Gouri.
Earlier, the mortal remains of Achuthanandan reached his Velikkakathu house at Paravur in Alappuzha in the afternoon. Thousands turned up to see him for the last time.
