Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Monday (December 29, 2025) highlighted the role of festivals in strengthening unity and inclusive growth in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Vice-President, who arrived in the State capital on Monday evening, was addressing Trivandrum Fest 2025, a Christmas-New Year event organised by the South Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India in association with the Assembly of Christian Trust Services.
Christmas, he said, is not just for those who practice the faith but for all good people who want to create a positive and vibrant society. Mr. Radhakrishnan highlighted Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, spirit of coexistence and the role of festivals in strengthening unity and inclusive growth in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Festivals such as Trivandrum Fest reflect the intellectual and cultural vitality of the nation and underline the power of collective celebration, he said. The Vice-President described Thiruvananthapuram as a city where heritage and progress move together with dignity and harmony.
Earlier in the evening, the Vice-President was received at the Thiruvananthapuram Airport by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh, Mayor V.V. Rajesh, and Shashi Tharoor, MP.
On Tuesday, the Vice-President will inaugurate the 93rd Sivagiri pilgrimage at 10 a.m. He will inaugurate the valedictory of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Mar Ivanios College at 12 noon. Mr. Radhakrishnan will leave Thiruvananthapuram by 1.25 p.m.
