UPSC CSE 2024 Results: 32 students from Jamia Millia Islamia’s RCA selected in final list

UPSC CSE 2024 Results: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on April 22 announced the final results for the civil services examination for 2024 cycle. This year, the top two positions have been secured by women, Shakti Dubey and Harshita Goyal. Additionally, from Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), 32 candidates have been selected in UPSC’s Civil Services Exam 2024. A total of 78 students from RCA appeared in the interview out of which 32 have been finally selected. 12 out of 32 selected candidates are women.

Out of the 32 selected candidates, few are likely to get IAS and IPS services and remaining candidates are likely to get IRS, Audit and Account Service, IRTS and other allied services of Group-A as per their ranking and choices, mentioned the press release from JMI.

UPSC CSE Results 2024: Women ahead in civil services exam; know toppers

Alfred Thomas, who secured AIR 33 is the best performer from the RCA this year. He is followed closely by  Iram Choudhary who has secured the 40 rank and Ruchika Jha whose rank is 51. The Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof Mazhar Asif and Registrar of JMI, Prof Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi extended their heartfelt congratulations to all the candidates. Shruti Sharma, the topper in UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021 was the star performer from the RCA, JMI.

UPSC CSE 2024: Jamia Millia Islamia’s RCA

The RCA was established in 2010 by the University Grants Commission under the aegis of Centre for Coaching and Career Planning (CC&CP), JMI to provide free coaching, and residential facilities to the students of SC, ST, Women, and Minorities for civil services and other competitive examinations. Students are selected for coaching on the basis of an All India written test followed by individual interviews.

Since 2010-11 till 2024 RCA claims to have mentored more than nearly 300 civil servants including many in IAS, IFS and IPS. Besides, more than 300 students have also been selected in various other central and state services i.e., CAPF,IB, RBI (Grade B), APF, Bank PO and PCS etc.
