Chinese robotics company Unitree has been steadily enhancing the capabilities of its humanoid robot, G1. Last month, the company shared a video of its compact humanoid robot mastering kung-fu moves, and kicking a baton mid-spin in a 720 degree turn.
Now, in a post on X (previously Twitter), the robot maker announced Unitree Iron Fist King: Awakening, a robot boxing event where two G1’s will be fighting against each other in about a month.
It also features a video which shows the Unitree G1 fighting against a human boxer, following which it faces another G1. However, the child-sized humanoid robot’s moves are not as smooth as human fighters, with the robot having relatively slow responses, balance issues and restricted dodging capabilities.

To give you a quick recap, the Unitree G1 is a 4.33 feet tall robot that features advanced technologies like 3D LiDAR, RealSense depth camera and a noise cancelling microphone. G1 is powered by a 9,000mAh battery and comes with an octa core CPU alongside powered joints in arms, legs and the torso.
While Unitree is yet to confirm the event date, it is said to take place in the next few weeks. Also, the company is yet to clarify which models will be participating in the fight, but there’s a slight chance that Unitree’s more advanced humanoid robot H1, which has a height of 5 feet 11 inches could join the arena.
