Two youths held with 20 grams of suspected MDMA in Kochi

In a major drug haul by the Kochi City police, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) on Friday arrested two youths with 20.22 grams of suspected MDMA. The arrested were identified as Unais, 34, of Thrikkakara, and Kalyani, 22, of Chingoli, Alappuzha.

The suspected narcotic substance was seized from an apartment at Edachira near Kakkanad where they stayed, based on a tip-off. It was kept in zip-locked covers. A weighing machine and smoking pipes were also seized from the flat.

Police sources said Unais was a history-sheeter booked under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act, while Ms. Kalayani worked in the film promotion field.
