Two-day CME conference begins at Kozhikode medical college

A two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference organised by the Department of General Medicine, Government Medical College, Kozhikode, began on the campus on Saturday (June 14).

Expert faculty from various parts of Kerala are leading various sessions and topics, such as sudden cardiac death, gestational diabetes, rabies prevention, amoebic meningoencephalitis, liver and kidney diseases, and stroke, which are being covered. Some of the highlights include discussions on the prevention of rabies infection and the effectiveness of proper first aid and early vaccination, and passive immunisation. The status of amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kerala at present, the current epidemiologic factors and the latest treatment guidelines are also being debated. Over 300 delegates from different parts of Kerala are participating in the event. K.G. Sajeeth Kumar, principal, opened the conference.
