TP murder case convict granted parole again

Kerala

T.K. Rajeesh, the fourth accused and a life convict in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, was granted parole again, triggering a renewed row. He was allowed a 20-day parole and is required to return to prison by January 10. This is the second parole granted to him within a span of three months.

The parole was granted with strict conditions, including a ban on entering Kannur and Kozhikode districts. Rajeesh was earlier granted a 30-day parole from August 1. After returning to prison, he underwent Ayurvedic treatment for one-and-a half months and returned to jail on December 7.

The latest parole comes at a time when allegations have surfaced regarding irregularities in granting parole to convicts in the case.

Rajeesh, a native of Kannur, has provided an address in Ernakulam district in jail records. Hence, one of the parole conditions is that he should not leave Ernakulam district during the parole period.
