Three held in share market fraud worth crores in Thrissur

The Kodungalloor police arrested three persons of the private finance firm over alleged financial fraud. The accused, including the company’s directors and manager, allegedly duped a local resident from Methala, Kodungalloor, of ₹1 crore between February 8, 2022 and October 4, 2024 by promising a 12% interest on share market investments along with a profit share of ₹3,000 for every ₹1 lakh invested.

The arrested have been identified as Vivek, 35, a resident of Methala, Kodungallur; Sahir Majid, 35, of Edathiruthy, Kuttamangalam; and Suresh Vasudev, 55, of Muthrathikkara, Parappukkara.

The arrests were made under the direction of Thrissur Rural District Police Chief B. Krishnakumar, by a team led by Kodungalloor SHO Arun B.K. and included SI Salim K., SI Thomas C., and CPO Vishnu.

All three accused were taken into custody following an investigation into the financial scam and will be produced in court after legal formalities.

According to the police, Vivek is already an accused in another fraud case under Nedupuzha police station. Sahir Majid is facing two more fraud cases under the same station.

The police have warned that such fraudulent financial schemes will be dealt with sternly, and more arrests are likely as the probe continues.
