While some jobs provide good work-life balance, others offer good opportunities for career growth or generous compensation and benefits. But are there companies that check all the boxes, including promoting a positive work culture and trust in leadership? And what about those workplaces that fall short across the board?

A new list by Blind, an anonymous community app for professionals, has revealed which are the best-rated and worst-rated companies to work at in India. Global tech giants Apple, Google, and Meta are among the top 10 best-rated companies, with AI industry leader Nvidia ranking second in the list after retail giant Target, which has claimed the No 1 spot.

At the opposite end, Amazon has emerged as the worst-rated workplace in India. Other major tech companies such as Paytm, InMobi, Coinbase, IBM, and Sprinklr have also been ranked low on the list.

According to Blind, the rankings are based on “verified employee reviews of 7,020 companies submitted over the past year by professionals accessing Blind from India.”

Notably, the anonymous community app said its rankings suggest a weak correlation between pay and overall satisfaction. “For example, American Express ranks 2nd overall despite a median salary of $32,250, as reported by its verified employees on Blind, placing it in the bottom 29% for compensation among India-based companies. By contrast, Coinbase offers a median salary of $82,000—among the top 12%—yet is rated as one of the worst places to work,” it said.

“Our analysis shows that company culture and management have the strongest ties to overall ratings, while compensation shows the weakest,” said Alex Han, Communications Manager at Blind.

In terms of ‘company culture’, Target, NVIDIA, American Express, Akamai Technologies, ServiceNow, Zoho, Arista Networks, Morgan Stanley, VMware, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. received the highest scores. Workplaces such as Target, American Express, ServiceNow, Arista Networks, AMD, NVIDIA, Pure Storage, Apple, Harness, and EPAM Systems were found to have excelled in the ‘trust in management’ category.

The most searched companies by Indian professionals over the past year were Meta, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, NVIDIA, ByteDance, Netflix, OpenAI, and Walmart.

They were accompanied by trending search terms such as “India offer,” “layoff,” “referral,” “promotion,” and “H-1B” which indicates strong user interest in both career growth and international opportunities, Blind said in its analysis.

This data includes search activity from both Blind’s web and app platforms.
