A 16-year-old girl ended her life, reportedly upset over scoring low marks in the SSLC examination.

The deceased has been identified as Arya Nanda, a resident of Pallana in Haripad.

Thrikkunnapuzha police said the girl was found hanging inside her house following the announcement of the SSLC results on Friday. Officials said she had scored A+ in only three subjects.

“We have found a note written by her. She was expecting A+ in more subjects and ended her life over the poor marks,” said an official.

Officials said that she was a student of Bethany Balikamadom Higher Secondary School, Nangiarkulangara, near Haripad.
