Steps afoot to establish govt. engineering college in Kasaragod

Higher Education Minister R. Bindu has announced the launch of preparatory steps to establish the first government engineering college in Kasaragod.

At a meeting held on Monday (October 6) in the presence of Trikaripur MLA M. Rajagopalan, it was decided that the new college would be set up on the premises of the Government Technical High School in Cheruvathur. The Principal of the Government College of Engineering, Kannur, has been appointed as the nodal officer for the project.

The Higher Education department is evaluating a proposal to launch B.Tech courses with a focus on new-generation technologies. The proposed courses include Electrical and Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The nodal officer has been tasked with securing AICTE approval for the courses.
