St. Xavier’s College organises beach clean-up with college students from Singapore

Students of St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, and ITE College East, Singapore, at a clean-up programme at St. Andrews Beach on Sunday

St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, organised a clean-up of the St. Andrews Beach in a joint initiative involving the students of ITE College East, Singapore, on Sunday.

The activity was part of the international cultural exchange programme being held from June 14 to 21, organised by the Xavier Outreach Services and the Department of English and Media Studies at St. Xavier’s College, Thumba.

As part of this programme, students from the School of Health Sciences, ITE College East, Singapore, arrived in Kerala and participated in the nature conservation activity that involved collecting, sorting and disposing of plastic and other waste materials accumulated on the beach.

The Singapore student team was led by Chris Gomez and Shenikal Shang. Faculty members from St. Xavier’s College, including Shibu Joseph, Biju Joy and Dominic Joseph, also participated in the initiative. Around 50 students from both colleges participated in the event.
