A special call centre facility will be introduced from Thursday for overseas electors in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kerala, election officials said.
Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar urged voters to make good use of the facility.
More than half the voters in Kerala have received the enumeration forms after house-to-house enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters’ lists began on November 4, according to election officials.
Till 8 p.m. on Wednesday, a little over 1.52 crore enumeration forms have been distributed in Kerala, Mr. Kelkar said. This constitutes 54.88% of the total forms to be distributed in the State.
Mr. Kelkar reiterated his conviction that that house-to-house enumeration, which constitutes the first stage of the SIR process, can be completed by November 25 in Kerala.
The CEO had held discussions with the Collectors and Electoral Registration Officers of districts that were lagging behind in the enumeration exercise.
