State Police Chief Shaik Darvesh Saheb formally declared Student Police Cadets (SPCs) as anti-drug ambassadors on Friday.
The announcement was made at a SPC State-level leadership summit that is under way in Thiruvananthapuram.
Mr. Saheb highlighted the crucial role that students play in propagating awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. He emphasised that with the State grappling with the growing societal issue, collective efforts are essential to tackle the crisis effectively.
He added that the Kerala Police will soon launch a project aimed at assigning a dedicated police officer to each school across the State. These officers will serve as nodal officers in the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters, S. Sreejith, also participated in the function.
