The India campus of the University of Southampton, which was inaugurated in Gurgaon on Wednesday, is set to begin hosting its first cohort of 140 students for the 2025-26 academic session.
In its maiden academic session from September, the UK university’s campus will offer 4 UG and 2 PG courses. The UG courses are in business management, accounting and finance, computer science and economics, while the PG courses are in finance, and international management.
At the campus inauguration event, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that besides the three foreign universities that are now functioning, 12 more foreign universities are being given approval under the UGC regulations, along with two more in GIFT city. These include campuses in the NCR region, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai, Pradhan said.
