Additionally, the JKBOSE Class 10th and 11th exams scheduled for today August 25 also stands postponed across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh UTs in view of severe inclement weather.

Uttarakhand

In response to a rainfall alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for several areas across Uttarakhand, including Chamoli, authorities in Chamoli district have declared the closure of all schools and Anganwadi centres today. The directive covers government, non-government, and private institutions from Classes 1 to 12, along with all Anganwadi centres, as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.

Officials have directed the Chief Education Officer of Chamoli to ensure that all schools adhere strictly to the closure order. Similarly, the District Programme Officer (Child Development) has been tasked with implementing the directive across all Anganwadi centres in the district.

Himachal Pradesh

Heavy rain disrupted normal life in Himachal Pradesh, prompting the closure of schools and colleges in four out of 12 districts, while 484 roads, including two national highways, remained closed for vehicular traffic. The local meteorological office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in isolated areas of two to seven districts in the state till August 30. Education institutes, except the residential ones, were shut in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una and Solan districts in view of the alert, officials said.

Rajasthan

In light of the ongoing heavy rainfall, the District Disaster Management Authority—under the leadership of District Collector Dr Jitendra Kumar Soni—has ordered the closure of all Anganwadi centres as well as government and private schools across Jaipur district. This precautionary measure will be in effect on Monday, 25th August and Tuesday, 26th August to ensure the safety of children and staff amid the adverse weather conditions.

Assam

Schools across Guwahati will remain closed on 25 August in observance of Tirubhav Tithi, commemorating the revered spiritual leader Srimanta Sankardeva.
