All schools in Punjab, including government and private, will remain shut from August 27 to 30 due to heavy rains and floods.
Announcing the decision, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann took to X and wrote: “For the past few days, heavy rain has been occurring, and the weather department has forecasted very heavy rainfall for the next few days as well. In view of this, all primary, secondary, senior secondary government and private schools in the state will remain closed from August 27 to 30.”
