The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple will open at 4 p.m. on October 16 for the monthly puja during the Malayalam month of Thulam.
Melsanti (head priest) S. Arun Kumar Namboothiri will open the temple in the presence of Tantri Kandararu Mahesh Mohanaru.
The temple will open for darshan on the first day of Thulam (October 18) at 5 a.m. The draw of lots for selecting the Sabarimala and Malikappuram Melshantis will also be held at the Sannidhanam in the morning on the first day of Thulam, said a statement here on Wednesday.
President Droupadi Murmu will visit Sabarimala on October 22. The Travancore Devaswom Board has started preparations to welcome the President. There will be restrictions on darshan on October 22 in connection with the President’s visit.
The Sree Chithira Aattathirunal festival for this year is on October 21.
