In the light of heavy rain and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for Thrissur district on Monday, District Collector Arjun Pandian has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in the district on the day.
The holiday will be applicable to all educational institutions, including professional colleges, Kendriya Vidyalayas, CBSE and ICSE schools, anganwadis, nurseries, tuition centres, and madrasas. The decision was made to ensure the safety of students and staff in view of the adverse weather conditions.
The district administration clarified that pre-scheduled examinations and interviews would be held as planned. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and follow updates from official channels as the district braces for further rainfall.
