OnePlus recently confirmed the launch of its next smartphone, the OnePlus 13s, a compact flagship, and announced that it will be the first phone from the brand to feature the alert slider replacement called “Plus Key,” with the tagline “one key to rule them all.”
In terms of both looks and functionality, the Plus Key on the upcoming OnePlus 13s closely resembles the Action Button on the iPhone 16 series. Positioned on the left side of the device, it functions as an alert slider by default, allowing users to switch between different sound profiles.

Additionally, it is a programmable button that can be customised to serve as a dedicated camera shutter, flashlight toggle, translation shortcut, or possibly even an AI assistant trigger.
As of now, it remains unclear whether OnePlus will allow users full customisation of the Plus Key or if it will be limited to predefined functions, similar to Apple’s implementation.
This button first appeared on the OPPO Find N5, a foldable smartphone, and OPPO is gradually expanding it to other OnePlus and OPPO devices, likely restricted to mid-range and high-end models.
The OnePlus 13s was first introduced in China as the OnePlus 13T. The company has confirmed that the upcoming flagship will be limited to select markets, such as China and India. It is expected to be one of the most compact smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with at least 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. OnePlus has confirmed that the device will come in two colour options. The device has a 50 MP dual-camera system with a wide-angle and a telephoto lens.
The device is likely to ship with Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 and is expected to receive the same level of software support as the OnePlus 13, at least four years of major OS updates and six years of security patches.
