Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Political Affairs Committee member and former MP T.N. Prathapan has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, stating that being the Chief Minister of a literate State, he must realise that people will see through all attempts of cover-ups.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a protest march and dharna organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) at Thrissur Government Medical College Hospital on Tuesday against the crisis in health sector. Mr. Prathapan said that the once-revered government medical colleges in Kerala, which once ranked at the top nationally, are now ‘on ventilators.’ He alleged that public hospitals meant to serve the poor and ordinary citizens are turning into inactive institutions due to government neglect.
“The government’s apathy and negligence towards the healthcare sector are creating a dangerous fallout. It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister and the Health Minister remain blind to this collapse,” he said.
DCC president Joseph Tajeth presided. Senior Congress leaders participated in the protest.
