Indian payment platform Paytm briefly went down earlier today for many users. Affected users reported not being able to log in to the Paytm app and website, and were left unable to make payments. Users trying to make payments were automatically logged out and were left unable to log back in. Paytm has now fixed the issue, and users can easily log in again using their credentials.
Indianexpress.com had confirmed Paytm transactions were down and were instead taking users straight to the login screen, where entering credentials again didn’t help. Instead, users were met with a ‘Something went wrong, please try again after some time’ error. A number of Paytm users also took to Twitter to complain about the issue.
Outage detection website DownDetector also confirmed that users across the country were facing issues with Paytm. Affected areas included major cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, among others.
Paytm soon officially confirmed that there is was a ‘Network error’ with the app via a tweet, and stated that the team was working on fixing the issue. Check out the tweet below.
Due to a network error across Paytm, a few of you might be facing an issue in logging into the Paytm Money App/website. We are already working on fixing the issue at the earliest. We will update you as soon as it is resolved
