P. Muhammed Muhsin, MLA of Pattambi, has launched a digital project aimed at transforming his constituency into India’s first ‘learning constituency’. Higher Education Minister R. Bindu inaugurated the project titled ‘Shradha’ the other day.

Shradha is acronym for Supportive Holistic Reinforcement and Development for Human Advancement.

This initiative, which prioritises values such as education, mental health, social development, skill development and employment, brings together learning, governance and participatory development with people engagement.

Through the website www.shradhaonline.org, the project aims to implement a variety of programmes to educate and empower the local people.

As many as 53 libraries big and small in the constituency will be developed into vocational skill building and knowledge sharing centres. They will be branded people’s universities.

The initiative includes three key programmes: Manasamithra, which offers mental support to students, parents and teachers; free entrance coaching for high school students and beyond to prepare for competitive exams; and Young Talent Search, which identifies and nurtures exceptional young talent.

Shradha aligns with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs), promoting health, education, economic growth and equality. It also serves as a model for local-level sustainable development.
