One drowns, another goes missing at sea

The body of one of the two youths who went missing while bathing at the Meenkunnu beach was recovered on Tuesday (June 3).

The deceased was identified as Ganesh Nambiar, a native of Kodolipram, Pattannoor.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday (June 2) in the Kallakadappuram area of Meenkunnu beach. Ganesh’s body was found floating in the sea near Neerkadavu and was recovered with the help of local fishermen. The Marine Enforcement Directorate led efforts to bring the body ashore at Ayikkara beach.

Meanwhile, the search has been intensified for the other missing youth — an engineering student — with the assistance of the coastal police, fire and rescue services team, and local fishermen.
