NMDC raises iron ore lump price to ₹5,600 per tonne

State-owned miner NMDC increased price of iron ore by ₹50 per tonne of Baila Lump effective November 15 while leaving the price of the Fines unchanged. The new per tonne Baila Lump price is ₹5,600, the company said in a filing on Saturday. This is the second price revision by the company in less than a month. Baila Fines will continue to come for ₹4,750 per tonne.

In the previous revision with effect from October 22, NMDC had reduced the price by ₹550 per tonne of Baila Lump to ₹5,550 and by ₹500 for the same quantity of Fines to ₹4,750. Prior to that it had revised the prices of the key raw material of steel on August 1 to ₹6,100 for Baila Lump and ₹5,250 for Baila Fines.

These are FOR prices inclusive of royalty, DMF, NMET and exclusive of cess, forest permit fee, transit fee, GST, environmental cess and other taxes.

The latest revision is the sixth this financial year and the seventh since January. In 2025, NMDC had changed the price first on January 9 to ₹6,000 for the lump variety and ₹5060 for the Fines. The next revision, the first in FY26, became effective from May 1 to ₹6,400 and ₹5,500 for the lump and the fines, respectively. Thereafter, the prices were reduced on June 4 to ₹6,300 and ₹5,350; and on July 1 to ₹5,700 and ₹4,850.
