The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrix for MBBS and BDS admission against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) round 1 counselling. Candidates can check the NEET UG round 1 seat matrix at mcc.nic.in.
This year, the MCC is conducting four rounds of online NEET UG counselling for all India quota seats, including seats at central and deemed universities – round 1, round 2, round 3, and a stray vacancy round.
As many as 12.36 lakh candidates who qualified NEET UG will compete for 1,15,900 MBBS seats in government, private, and other medical colleges across the country. The total number of medical seats for admission to MBBS programmes compared to the number of qualified candidates indicates that only one out of 10 will obtain a seat in the medical course.
Of the total 775 medical colleges offering MBBS across the country in the NEET UG counselling seat matrix for the 15 per cent all India quota (AIQ), the institutions are categorised by management type. While more than 400 government colleges are in the list , 32 private colleges, 13 government (society) colleges, 44 society-run colleges, and over 250 trust-run colleges will be offering MBBS courses.
Also, seven medical colleges have sanctioned MBBS seats. These include Gayathri Vidya Parishad Institute Of Health Care And Medical Technology, Visakhapattanam, Andhra Pradesh (Society); Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute Of Medical Sciences And Research, Raipur, Chhattisgarh (Trust); Hamdard Institute Of Medical Sciences And Research, Guru Ravidas Marg, Delhi (Society); Swaminarayan Institute Of Medical Sciences and Research, Kalol, Gandhinagar, Gujarat (Trust); Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka (Trust); Index Medical College Hospital And Research Centre, Indore, Madhya Pradesh (Trust); Geetanjali Medical College And Hospital, Udaipur, Rajasthan (Trust); Father Colombo Institute Of Medical Sciences, Warangal (Trust)Uttar Pradesh and National Capital Region Institute Of Medical Sciences, Meerut (Society).
The NEET UG seat allotment results against round 1 will be declared on July 31, 2025. Once the results are out, selected candidates must report to their respective institutes between August 1 and August 6, 2025. Finally, the data verification by the institutes is scheduled for August 7 to 8, 2025.
The MCC notice has further instructed all participating institutes and colleges to ensure strict adherence to the prescribed time schedule. Considering the limited time available for conducting the counselling process, all institutes/colleges are directed to treat Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Holidays as regular working days.
