NEET UG was held on May 4 for 22.7 lakh candidates. The exam was conducted at 4,750 centres in 557 cities across India, as well as 14 centres abroad.
Last year, the NEET UG exam was held on May 5 for over 24 lakh candidates. The provisional answer key was released on May 29, and the window to challenge was open till May 31. The result was released on June 4.
A re-exam was held on June 23 after a controversy. The re-exam provisional answer key challenge date was June 28 to 29. The revised results were released on July 26.

The cut-off in 2024 in the re-revised result for the general category candidates was decreased from 720-164 in the June 4 result to 720-162 . The all India rank 1 is shared by 17 students. They had scored 99.9992714 percentile. For the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class candidates, the NEET UG cut-off was 161-127. Similarly, the NEET UG 2024 cut off for SC, ST and OBC-PH candidates, the cut off was 143-127.
