Mohanlal to present Artist Namboothiri Samman to Bhagyanath

Actor Mohanlal will present the maiden Artist Namboothiri Samman to illustrator C. Bhagyanath on Saturday (October 18). The award, instituted by the Kochi-based Artist Namboothiri Samman Trust, will be presented at a ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. at TDM Hall, Kochi. Trustee Babu Joseph will chair the meet.

The award carries a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, certificate, and a sculptor made by Namboothiri.

Known for his distinct style of sketching, Mr. Bhagyanath, a native of Thalassery, has been making illustrations for literary works in Malayalam for the past 27 years. His works were displayed at several exhibitions in and outside the country.
