Man arrested with over 200 grams of suspected MDMA in Kochi

The Kochi City police arrested a man allegedly with 201.71 grams of MDMA from a lodge near Athani Junction at Kakkanad on Thursday (July3, 2025).

The arrested man was identified as George Shesnan, 33, of Cheranalloor. The seizure was made by a District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) team led by Narcotic Cell Assistant Commissioner Abdul Salam.

According to the police, he allegedly smuggled MDMA in large quantities from Bengaluru, both personally and through intermediaries. He then sold the drug in various parts of the district using women and youngsters as carriers, the police said. The accused never used his own mobile phone, relying instead on third-party devices. He had been on the radar of the Narcotics Cell for some time.

The DANSAF team also arrested another person with 2.79 grams of suspected MDMA from a hotel room in Kollamkudimugal, Kakkanad. The accused was identified as Sahal Yusaf, 23, of Aluva.

In a separate case, the Hill Palace police arrested a man allegedly with 2.17 grams of MDMA and 2.85 grams of hashish oil from Udayamperoor. The accused was identified as E.S. Harikrishnan, 28, of Udayamperoor.
