KSEB to levy 5 paise and 7 paise per unit as surcharge on June monthly and bimonthly Bills

The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will collect 5 paise per unit as fuel surcharge from consumers with monthly billing and 7 paise per unit from consumers with bi-monthly billing in June.

The surcharge is meant to recover ₹12.39 crore additionally spent by the power utility on power purchases during April this year.

Domestic consumers with connected load of and below 1000 watts and monthly consumption of and below 40 units and green tariff consumers are exempted from the surcharge, the KSEB said in a May 27 order.
