The Kerala Pradesh School Teachers’ Association (KPSTA) has protested against denial of promotion and other benefits to teachers without any consideration for their service in the name of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
On a call from the KPSTA, petitions in this regard were given to the Minister for General Education, all assistant education officers, district education officers, deputy directors of education, and the Directorate of General Education.
The Supreme Court had exempted teachers with less than five years of service from TET qualification, while others were to be given two years to clear the TET. However, the KPSTA alleged a move to block teachers’ benefits before the two-year-period ended.
The KPSTA demanded that the government intervene to resolve the matter and approach the Supreme Court too.
