B. Rakesh and Saji Nanthiyattu will contest for the post of president of the Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) when the last date for withdrawal of nominations ended on Thursday (August 7).
Listin Stephen, Vinayan, and Kalliyoor Sasi are the candidates for the post of general secretary. For the post of vice president, those in the fray include Sophia Paul, Anand Kumar, and Sandeep Senan.
The election is scheduled for August 14. The returning officer had rejected the nomination papers filed by producer Sandra Thomas for the posts of president and treasurer on Monday (August 4), claiming that she did not meet the eligibility criteria for contesting the post of a key office-bearer.
She had denied the allegations and said that she was eligible as per the bylaws of the association. She had also filed a petition before the Ernakulam sub-court against the rejection of her nomination papers. The court is expected to consider it on August 11.
