The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will conduct ‘UGCET-2025 – Interaction on Seat Allotment Process’ (Seetu Hanchike Manthana), on June 28, aiming to further streamline the professional course admission process by educating students and parents on each stage involved, said Dr M.C. Sudhakar, Minister for Higher Education.

The programme will be held across the state in 16 government engineering colleges, eight aided engineering colleges, six engineering colleges affiliated to VTU, and nine government polytechnic colleges located in districts where government engineering colleges are not available. The polytechnics where sessions will take place are located in Chikkamagaluru, Hubballi (Dharwad), KGF (Kolara), Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Udupi, Vijayapura, and Surapura (Yadagiri), the Minister explained.

The event will address frequently asked questions such as: How does the counselling process work? How to choose a college? and How to enter options? This programme offers an ideal opportunity for students and parents to visit their nearest college and get their queries resolved, the Minister highlighted.

“Some people wrongly assume that the UGCET seat allotment process is very complicated. Unfortunately, this perception has been exploited by certain individuals who have misled candidates and parents in the name of helping with seat allotment. Such fraudulent networks may still be active. To prevent this, ‘Manthana’ (interactive session) aims to provide transparent and reliable information to students and parents,” Dr Sudhakar said.

The process will be explained in a clear and impactful manner, with the help of live demonstrations. In addition, teaching staff and students from government engineering colleges will share insights into the academic progress of their respective institutions, he informed.

This ‘UGCET-2025: Interactive Session on Seat Allotment Process’ reflects KEA’s continued commitment to transparency and the use of technology to improve efficiency, while also making the CET admission process more accessible and student-friendly, the Minister noted.
