Govt. effects major bureaucratic reshuffle

A Cabinet meeting held here on Monday decided to reinstate senior bureaucrat K.R. Jyothilal in the General Administration Department (GAD) in a major reshuffle in the top echelons of the bureaucracy.

Mr. Jyothilal, who is currently Principal Secretary in the Transport Department, was given full additional charge of the GAD. The return comes two months after he was removed from the post to placate Governor Arif Mohammed Khan after he had reportedly written to Raj Bhavan on the appointment of senior journalist and BJP fellow-traveller Hari S. Kartha’s appointment as Additional Personal Assistant to the Kerala Governor.

Sarada Muraleedharan, Additional Chief Secretary in the Local Self Government (Urban & Rural) Department, has been given additional charge of the Urban Waste to Energy Programme and the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project.

Bishwanath Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology Department, will hold additional charges of Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs Department and Member Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board.

M. Sivasankar, who is currently Principal Secretary in the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, will hold additional charges of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Cultural Affairs (Zoo) Departments.

Tinku Biswal has been posted as Principal Secretary in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The official will continue to hold full additional charge of Principal Secretary in the Ports Department.

Ajit Kumar, who has been repatriated from Central deputation, has been posted as Secretary, Public Works Department. Priyanka G. has been posted as Director, Woman and Child Development Department on return from maternity leave.
