International conference on advancements in maternal and fetal health from October 11

A two-day international conference on the latest advancements in maternal and fetal health, “FETOMAT 2025 – Current Updates in Feto-Maternal Medicine”, is being held in the capital on October 11 and 12.

The conference is being hosted by the Department of Maternal and Fetal Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KIMSHEALTH, in association with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).

The theme of the conference is “Bridging Beginnings and Beyond”.

John Smoleniec, Conjoint Professor, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Liverpool Hospital, New South Wales, Australia, and Suresh S., Director of Mediscan, Chennai, and a pioneer in fetal medicine in India, will be among the notable speakers sharing their clinical experiences with the delegates.

Over 50 experts are expected to speak on contemporary challenges in foetal medicine as well as challenges and innovations in feto-maternal medicine.

Key highlights include panel discussions on “Late Anomalies: Detection, Dilemma, and Decision-Making” and “Evaluation of the Small Fetus”, where experts will deliberate on the role of multidisciplinary care in managing high-risk pregnancies.

The conference will also mark the launch of Kerala’s first Perinatal Mental Health Clinic in the private sector, designed to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant mothers.
