Instagram reel at temple pond: purification rituals conducted 

The Guruvayur Sreekrishna temple conducted purification rituals on Tuesday after a young woman allegedly filmed Instagram reels at the temple pond and corridors, reportedly in violation of temple restrictions.

The woman, identified as Jasmin Jaffar, reportedly entered the temple pond steps, a site where sacred rituals like Arat are performed, and shot videos of herself washing her feet, before posting the content on Instagram. She also filmed in the temple corridors, both of which fall under areas where photography and videography have been banned by a Kerala High Court order.

Following the incident, rituals were carried out under the instruction of the temple Tantri. Devotees faced restrictions on darshan from Tuesday morning until the Uchapuja.

Earlier, the Devaswom administrator lodged a formal complaint with the temple police, citing breach of sanctity and violation of the court-imposed restrictions.
