The three-day Indian Cultural Congress 2025, organised by various organisations in association with the Department of Culture, will begin here on Saturday (December 20, 2025).
The inaugural ceremony and sessions will be held at Subhash Park, Rajendra Maidan, Durbar Hall Ground, and Kerala Fine Arts Hall. More programmes are planned at T.K. Ramakrishnan Cultural Centre, Maharaja’s College, Chavara Cultural Centre, and the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event on Saturday. Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan and ministers P. Rajeeve and Saji Cherian will attend.
On the opening day, seminars on the role of theatre in social transformation, evolution of Kerala’s history, intersection of religion and humanity, and the cultural politics of modern cinema will be held.
Discussions on media ethics, responsibilities of contemporary writers, and strategies for cultural resistance against patriarchy will also be held.
Deliberations on challenges in the education sector, tension between myth and science, and the evolving identity of the nation will be held on the third day.
