Prof Manmohan Prasad Gupta will take charge as the director of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow). Professor Gupta is currently serving as a professor at IIT Delhi. He will be succeeding Professor Archana Shukla. Professor Shukla finished her five-year term on April 4 last year and was directed to continue till the appointment of a regular director, an IIM Lucknow statement said.
Manmohan Prasad Gupta had received a PhD from IIT Delhi. He has been serving as a Professor of information systems with the Department of Management Studies (DMS), IIT Delhi, since 1997. He has published as many as 32 doctoral theses, 22 sponsored projects, four coauthored/ edited books, and more than 200 research articles.
He has been actively engaged with the Government of India’s ‘‘Digital India’’ and ‘‘Smart City’’ initiatives, where his academic work has meaningfully contributed — particularly to India’s ‘‘Cyber Security Policy.’’ He also serves on various policy-making committees on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at both the Central and State Government levels. His research primarily focuses on the policy aspects of ICT.
IIM Lucknow was set up in 1984 as the fourth IIM by the Government of India. IIM Lucknow offers post-graduate diploma, fellowship and executive programs in management. The institute is ranked seventh in the category of “Management” in the NIRF 2024 rankings.
