The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are expanding their undergraduate offerings, with four IIMs — Bangalore, Kozhikode, Sambalpur, and Sirmaur — have recently launched their standalone undergraduate programmes, the Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Besides, seven institutes provide the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), a five-year dual-degree course that was launched in 2011. These include IIM Indore, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, and the latest additions — IIM Shillong and IIM Amritsar — which will admit their first IPM batches in 2025,
The IPM programme allows students the flexibility to exit after three years with an undergraduate degree. Seat intake for the programme ranges from 60 to 180 across the participating institutes.
Under the IIM Act, 2017, each IIM has the authority to design and offer courses in management and related fields, with their Boards of Governors empowered to set up new departments and academic programmes.
IIM-Bangalore announced two four-year residential honours programmes: BSc (Hons) in Economics and BSc (Hons) in Data Science. These programmes will be offered under IIMB’s newly established School of Multidisciplinary Studies and will be delivered at the institute’s upcoming second campus in Jigani.
Class 12 students that have scored a minimum of 60 per cent in Mathematics and an overall score of 60 per cent or above in Class 10 are eligible to apply. The admissions will be conducted through a national-level entrance exam followed by a personal interview. As per the

Similarly, IIM Kozhikode, in April, announced their four-year BMS programme that will be delivered at the Institute’s Kochi campus. The IIM-K’s admission process had begun in June 2025. The first cohort will commence classes in late August or early September.
In May, IIM Sambalpur has introduced two new undergraduate programmes — Bachelor of Science in Management and Public Policy and Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence — aligning with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Admissions will be based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.
