High Court curbs construction of toll plaza at Kumbala

The Kerala High Court has curbed the construction of a toll plaza by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at Kumbala in Kasaragod.

This followed a petition filed by Ashraf Mohammed on behalf of the action committee formed in this regard, citing that there was a toll plaza at Talapadi which is hardly 20 km away from Kumbala. The petitioner said that the new toll plaza was being built in violation of rules stipulating a 60-km distance between two toll plazas.
