The Kerala High Court has expressed concern at the State government presenting its affidavits before the court on the day of hearing instead of filing them ahead of the hearing date.
Noting that this was noticed with regard to a counter affidavit filed on Friday as well, the court said that this was taxing, especially when the materials presented before the court were lengthy and required closer reading. It warned the State that it would impose costs on it if this was to continue.
The court made the observations while considering a pair of petitions regarding the implementation of laws beneficial to children. The matter has been posted for hearing on June 19.
