HC directs payment of fellowship dues to student

The Kerala High Court has directed prompt payment of fellowship amount to a research student of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. The salary of its Vice-Chancellor and Registrar shall not be paid in case the fellowship dues of the student, Adarsh E. of Kozhikode, were not cleared, it said. There can be no justification for non-payment of the student petitioner’s fellowship, if the VC was being paid his salary regularly, the court said.
