Governor’s powers, responsibilities part of textbook: Minister

Powers and responsibilities of Governors and Emergency have been included in the school curriculum, Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has said.

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday, the Minister said that as announced, the Governors’ role had been clearly explained in the chapter ‘Democracy an Indian experience’ in part II of the Class X Social Science textbook.

The period during Emergency had been included under the sub-heading ‘Emergency a crisis in Indian democracy’ in the same chapter.
