On Monday, Google announced a significant update to Gemini Live, which now supports camera and screen-sharing capabilities. These features are available to Pixel 9 series and Galaxy S24 series users as a free upgrade. Additionally, anyone with a Gemini Advanced subscription can access these capabilities on most Android smartphones.
This feature was first showcased at last year’s I/O, Google’s annual developer conference and it is now being rolled out to users.

The updated Gemini Live can access the camera to see you or your surroundings via a live feed and respond to questions related to what it sees. Similarly, users can now share their smartphone screens and ask specific questions about a photo or a particular feature. For example, you can point the Gemini Live camera at a monument, and Gemini will provide detailed information about it.
Users can also point the camera at a bike and ask troubleshooting questions—Gemini will assist accordingly. Google has further improved accessibility in Gemini Live, which can now understand 45 different languages.
If you are a Pixel 9 or Galaxy S24 user, make sure to update the Gemini app to the latest version to experience the enhanced conversational chatbot. If you’re using another Android smartphone, you’ll need a Gemini Advanced subscription, which costs Rs 1,950 per month. The subscription includes perks like access to the latest Gemini AI models from Google, 2 TB of cloud storage, and access to NotebookLM Plus.
