Around 107 grams of gold that had gone missing from the Padmanabhaswamy temple on Saturday was found on Sunday. According to the Fort police, the gold rod which was kept for carrying out gold plating work on the door of the sanctum sanctorum was found on the ground between the strong room and the place where the work was ongoing. The gold rod is assumed to have gone missing while being taken back to the store room.
Though possibility of an attempt to theft has almost been ruled out, further investigation is ongoing into the incident. The police have taken the statements of twelve persons who have handled the gold at various points of time. The gold was found missing from the strong room on Saturday morning. The loss was immediately reported to the Fort police station.
