Fire breaks out at commercial complex in Kumarapuram

A fire broke out at a private commercial complex in Kumarapuram here on Tuesday due to a suspected short circuit from a generator, triggering panic among the people in the vicinity. The fire broke out on the third floor of Xavier Street Food Café in the evening. The fire tenders rushed to the spot from the Chakkai fire station doused the fire, and brought the situation under control. The officials also confirmed that no major damage occurred to the building other than around 200 sq ft area on the third floor where the fire broke out.
