Isaac George who died following a road accident at Kottarakara in Kollam.
The untimely demise of Isaac George, a native of Kottarakara in Kollam district of Kerala, will leave a void in the hearts of his loved ones but his heart will now beat within another youngster, giving him a second chance at life.
According to sources, the harvesting of the organs of Isaac George, 33, a restaurateur in Kollam who was hospitalised following a road accident at Kottarakara and whose brainstem death was confirmed on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) at KIMSHEALTH hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, has been completed. The medical team has now rushed the organ to the waiting air ambulance at the Thiruvananthapuram airport’s domestic terminal.
The heart will be flown by air ambulance to Lisie Hospital in Kochi soon, where it will be transplanted in a 28-year-old native of Angamaly, who has been on the waiting list for a heart under the Kerala government’s deceased donor organ donation programme Mrithasanjeevani.
Isaac George had been under treatment in KIMSHEALTH since September 7 and his brainstem death was certified by the hospital authorities following the mandatory processes on Wednesday evening. Following this, Isaac’s wife, Nancy, expressed her willingness to donate his salvageable organs.
Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (K-SOTTO), the State government’s apex body responsible for the smooth conduct of Mrithasanjeevani, has coordinated and made the organ donation possible.
