The week-long Ente Keralam mega mela and marketing fair, organised at Kannur Police Maidan as part of the second Pinarayi Vijayan government’s fourth anniversary celebrations, concluded on a high note, drawing widespread appreciation for its developmental showcase, on Wednesday (May 14).
Inaugurating the closing ceremony, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. V. Sivadasan declared that Kerala remains at the forefront of development in every sector. He highlighted the government’s commitment to universal internet access through the K-Fon initiative, aiming to position Kerala as a leader in information technology.
Minister for Archaeology and Registration Ramachandran Kadannappally, who presented awards to the best-performing stalls, said the fair had established a replicable development model for the rest of the country.
Presiding over the function, MLA K.V. Sumesh praised Kerala’s progressive governance, stating the State has successfully implemented modern development ideals as a global example. “Our goal is to lead Kerala forward with confidence and pride,” he said.
The closing ceremony saw participation from district panchayat president K.K. Ratnakumari, vice president Binoy Kurian, District Collector Arun K. Vijayan, and other senior officials.
Awards for outstanding stalls and media contribution were determined by a jury comprising Deputy Director of Economics and Statistics E.V. Premarajan, Kannur Press Club president C. Sunilkumar, and former All India Radio Station director Balakrishnan Koyyal.
